This is just a collection of random highlights from some of the old Rose books.
Apparently Rose and Pasquale's fear of the drain monster has been around for a long time.
Pasquale's adoration of lightning bugs has been around for awhile as well.
Pat occasionally worked Pasquale's small size into the punch line of the strip. Of course, now he is a little bit too big for such jokes.
Even in recent strips we see evidence of Pat's weariness of the television. Apparently the Gumbo's have have shared this feeling with him for quite some time.
Really useless fact: According the comic below, Rose was in first grade in 1958. This comic was originally printed in 1987. Assuming that Rose was six years old in the first grade and did not skip grades, that would make her 35. Of course, both Pasquale and Mimi have matured a bit so some time has passed in the comic sense then. (And far be it from me to ask a lady her age; that would be rude!)
