Jimbo is the father of the Gumbo family. Jimbo never seems to lose his romantic touch when it comes to his wife - leaving little love notes for Rose to find throughout the day. He frequently adorns Rose with passionate kisses (which are often incredibly exaggerated). Despite such admirable qualities, he needs a little advice from time to time, which he seeks from The Amazing Perplexin - an occasionally recurring character in the comic strip. Jimbo also finds women sexier if they're a bit on the heavy side and occasionally tries to get Rose to gain weight - much to Rose's dismay. And, as a good father, Jimbo enjoys having fun with his son - often pulling harmless pranks on him. Additionally, he finds great pleasure in doing wonderful and amazing things for Pasquale - which helps him maintain that level of hero worship that all dad's need sometimes.
